How to adopt?

Our platform does not directly assist with the adoption process. We simply provide information to help you more easily search for animal shelters. All adoption procedures must be handled through the respective organizations. This ensures we do not interfere with their operations. If you need any assistance, feel free to contact us!

The Adoption Process

Interview

It starts with an interview. This discussion helps us understand what you expect from an animal, what your lifestyle is like, and what kind of home you can offer. We will also talk about what we expect from you as responsible pet owners. We are here to guide you and answer your questions, whether you have had animals before or if this is your first.

Home visit

The next step in the process is the home visit. This allows us to ensure that your home is a safe and suitable environment for the animal.

Choice of animals

Once the interviews are complete and your home has been approved, you will have the opportunity to visit the shelter and meet the animals to see if there is anyone you click with. We know our animals well and can advise on which animals may best fit your lifestyle and personality. You will also have the opportunity to come here to the home to meet the animals.

Then what?

Before the animal can move to its new home, a contract is signed in which you agree to Djurens Vänner's terms and conditions for adoption. There is also a fee that helps cover some of our costs of caring for the animals.
