How to adopt?
Our platform does not directly assist with the adoption process. We simply provide information to help you more easily search for animal shelters. All adoption procedures must be handled through the respective organizations. This ensures we do not interfere with their operations. If you need any assistance, feel free to contact us!
Check their own cats
Check out their cats in the webpage with basic infomation about the cats background. Since photos can't tell that much of a cat personality. It was always good to book a time to visit them. https://www.uppsalakatthem.com/vara-katter
Book and visit
1. Reserve a time for a visit to the cat shelter: Reservation - First visit to the shelter
2. Fill out the registration form that you will receive a link to in your reservation confirmation (e-mail). Note: this is important, if no registration form has been received, your visit is not booked!
Then what?
At the cat shelter you will meet one of our adoption volunteers and write an adoption application for one/two of the cats you have met. If your application is approved by our adoption coordinator, you can reserve the cat and take the next step: Book a return visit to the cat shelter: Return visit - reserved cat
If everything feels good after your visits, the adoption will be carried out and we will deliver the cat to your home.
Adoption fee?
Adopting a cat from Föreningen Samvetet costs different things depending on the cat's age and breed. Here is our current price list:
Kitten (under 1 year): 3000 SEK
Domestic cat (1 year to 9 years): 1800 SEK
Older Domestic Cat (10 years and up): 1500 SEK
Purebred cat with pedigree (regardless of age, except kittens): 2500 SEK
The cats of the Samvetets Association are always fully vaccinated, dewormed (if necessary), neutered and microchipped . The association spends an average of 2500 SEK on each cat before they are ready for adoption. In addition to neutering, vaccination and deworming, treatment for diseases, wounds, frostbite, dental injuries, broken bones, scabies, lice, etc. is often required.
